A short and sweet love story yet filled with messages to warm your heart
A short, romantic story with so many hidden messages and life lessons. Can’t quarantine our love by Sudeep Nagarkar surprised me in a good way. The story revolves around two college students Avni and Siddharth who turned from enemies to lovers to life partners in a short span of time. The flow of their relationship is so natural and realistic that not for once it felt overdone. As I was reading the book I found how the author firmly established each of the characters with their own set of individuality and if the plot ever got twisted it won't sound unoriginal. As we read the book I saw he explored the serious issues of how the educational system specifically engineering isn’t serving the need of the time. It's not updated and then we come across news that the unemployment rate is so high in India due to a lack of proper market-based knowledge. He also explored the consequences of an unbalanced relationship when Avni lost her grandmother and entered into the spiral of depression. For Avni, her grandmother was a one-stop solution maker and therefore she hardly learned to be independent completely. In a way, Sudeep Nagarkar showed us the very need of taking our own decisions whether big or small. I found that even though the primary plot was of the romantic genre, it spoke loudly about companionship, family, and friends too.
While interviewing the author last month, he shared how his own life experiences are reflected in this book. Be it to study engineering, to study hard in order to relive those college days, to build a strong individual quality and learning to support ownself and at last follow passion.
The other characters like Sonal, Bani, Dk are so vibrant. I love how the author gave minute details to their characters and outlook. None of the characters overpowered each other at any point in time.
The message of the book is very clear. Love will bring the best of you. And that love isn’t just a relationship we share with our partner but it begins with us.
