Avatar Meher Baba by Ruzbeh N. Bharucha: book review

I have been leaning on and off from spirituality for a couple of years. Sometimes my faith is high and then it shatters. I believe that’s a constant journey filled with lessons that come towards you in this path. Exploring spiritual literature started with my mother and partly due to the institution I did my schooling from. I don’t show my complete obedience to one particular sect because I feel there is so much to explore here and to understand new perspectives. That being said, I have seen both the worlds of spirituality, the good and the bad.

While I am reading Avatar Meher Baba, I am awestruck with each of the chapters, where individuals share their personal experiences on how they have grown in this process gives me a lot of hope and knowledge. To be completely honest with you, this book opened a completely new door to me. The book isn’t just about the master but also equally about his children who share their light and dark attributes. How they felt and learned from him up close and by implementing those teachings in their lives.

ABOUT THE BOOK-

Known as one of the Perfect Masters, Avatar Meher Baba touched millions of lives and passed away in 1969. Since then, his followers, who were blessed to have had been under his direct care, feel his presence strongly, even to date, and live their lives in complete devotion to him.

Now, after more than fifty years after his passing, one of the most read and loved spiritual writers, Ruzbeh N. Bharucha, pieces together what it was to have experienced Baba in person-to have been blessed by him. Through interviews with his followers, Bharucha recreates the life and times of Baba, his deep connection with his Mandali, his miracles, his methods, and his teachings.

Such is the power of their words that Baba comes alive to readers as he had never been gone. It is a rare collection for those who would like to know more about what it was like to be with the Avatar himself.
